Understanding Solutions to Homelessness through a New Frame
GETTING TO SCALE
Getting to Scale was a one-day symposium held on March 7, 2019 focused on the guiding question of how can we build more units with and beyond Low Income Housing Tax Credits and the traditional private market to meet the incredible demand for affordable and supportive housing for people experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles? The symposium brought together public and private sector leaders from throughout Los Angeles to look at examples from other regions and locally that could help us get to scale.
HOUSING JUSTICE LA SUMMIT
The Housing Justice LA Summit was held on January 9, 2020 and brought together 150 people to share, learn and act for Housing Justice.
HOUSING JUSTICE PODCAST
Housing Justice LA is a new podcast exploring how Los Angeles can address the region’s homeless crisis by using a justice framework to develop solutions. The podcast is hosted by LaRae Cantley, a homeless advocate with lived experience of houselessness, and Molly Rysman, a homeless advocate with experience working in government and with nonprofits to address homelessness. Housing Justice LA brings the realities of homelessness in LA to life through stories, interviews, and artistic expression.
Reframing Solutions is a series of events and projects made possible by a Stanton Fellowship provided by the Durfee Foundation to Molly Rysman in 2018 and 2019. Each event and project sought to understand solutions to homelessness through both the deeper causes of, and urgency demanded by, today's homeless crisis in Los Angeles. A wide variety of extraodinary local leaders influenced and shaped each event and project.
